Pan Tadeusz was born in Kupno, Poland in 1926. Although his younger years were filled with many hardships of the war, he persevered and held many positions which he was very proud of and valued. After WWII, he moved to Warsaw and taught music for a few years and then became an Accounting Director. Years later, after moving to the U.S., he worked at Ryerson as a steelmaker and also held a side business with his father as a Furrier for Marshall Fields.
Pan Tadeusz brought joy to many people’s lives, put a smile on many faces, and always blew you a kiss or said “I love you.” He had a kind and caring soul, always passing out candy, giving you a wave or thumbs up, and making friends wherever he went. He found joy in music, loved his violin, the accordion, and the piano, and took pride in all his music notes he accumulated over the years. We cannot forget about the casino, lottery tickets, love of politics, or how he could read a newspaper for hours on end without looking up. He always cared about his appearance and loved wearing suits and in the winter, he loved his fur hats that he made himself. He would love going to Burger King to meet with his friends for coffee or would take the bus to Indiana and hang out at the casino all day. Summer was his favorite and he would love to sit outside, no matter how hot it was, working on his tan and casually feeding the squirrels and birds. One of his favorite memories was his trips to Hawaii and he always talked about it with nostalgia in his voice.
He lived a beautiful life of 94 years, but we can definitely say that 94 years is still too short for such a wonderful man. He made an unforgettable imprint on many lives and he will always be dearly remembered and loved by many. A piece of our hearts will always be with him, but we know he will be our guardian angel in heaven smiling down upon us and protecting us. Although we needed him here on Earth, God seemed to have needed him more.
Dad, we love you always and miss you.
