Raul Class Jr., a beloved son, brother, and uncle, was born on August 23, 1958, in Chicago, Illinois, and departed from us on June 28, 2025. He was the cherished son of Raul Class and Genoveva Mojica Class, who welcomed him into a world filled with love and family.
Raul's education began at Talcott Elementary School and continued at Wells High School, where he formed friendships that would last a lifetime. As a child, he spent joyful moments at the Union League Boys & Girls Club, a place where he found camaraderie and connection. While Raul did not have children of his own, he devoted his heart to his beloved family and friends, who treasured him deeply.
He leaves behind a legacy of love, remembered fondly by his siblings Luz Class, Yolanda Gonzalez, Evelyn Class, Angel Class, and Jose Class. Raul's warmth and kindness will also be missed by his many nieces and nephews: Ernie, Eddie Jr., Neida, Noel, Gumby, Chris, Jay, Priscilla, Macho, Vanity, Sophia, Cecilia, Marc, Joe, Jovanni, and Josette, along with an additional 40 great-nieces and nephews and 7 great-great-nieces and nephews who adored him.
As he joins his parents Raul and Genoveva, and his dear sister Magaly (Cuca) Class, we take comfort in knowing he is greeted with open arms at the gates of heaven. Though Raul bravely faced health challenges throughout his life, his spirit remained resilient and kind until the very end at the age of 66.
Raul was known for his humility and quiet nature, often surprising those around him with the depth of his warmth. He had a special talent for bringing people together through food, always cooking for anyone in need. His love extended beyond the kitchen; he found joy in watching his favorite television shows, immersing himself in various magazines, and cheering passionately for the Chicago Cubs—fitting for a man so deeply interwoven with the fabric of his hometown.
In celebrating Raul's life, we remember a gentle soul who touched many with his kindness and love. His absence will be deeply felt, but his spirit will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
